À propos de la résidence
Au cours de la résidence, chaque artiste développera un projet individuel en lien avec le thème Manuel, destiné à être intégré dans la publication collective finale. Les projets pourront mobiliser un ou des langages de la publication imprimée (textualité, dessin, estampe, photographie, impression, etc.) ou s’attarder aux modalités du médium et à leurs effets (rythme de lecture, composition, dimension et matériaux, etc.).
Le thème Manuel peut être envisagé de manière libre et ouverte, autant comme un ouvrage (manuel pratique, guide d’instructions, outil de transmission et d’archivage) que comme une notion liée aux main (compétences techniques, savoir-faire, apprentissage par la pratique). Le thème peut donner lieu à des propositions expérimentales, didactiques, poétiques, critiques et plus encore. Le thème Manuel constitue avant tout un point de départ à partir duquel réfléchir et créer.
La résidence se déroule dans une série de quatre ateliers visant à aborder le thème sous différents angles et à enrichir la réflexion par des approches variées. Une sortie à Artexte ainsi que des rencontres avec des artistes invité·e·s sont prévues dans le cadre des ateliers. La résidence aboutira à la réalisation d’une publication collective réunissant l’ensemble des propositions élaborées par les artistes tout au long du processus.
Aucune expérience d’écriture n’est requise, les artistes de toutes disciplines souhaitant expérimenter la publication en collectif sont encouragé·e·s à appliquer.

	Publication residency
From May 30th to August 30th 2026Deadline to apply: Sunday, March 29th 2026, at midnightThe publication residency offers a space for collective research and experimentation around the medium of print publishing. It is jointly organized by the publishing house Pièce jointe and Céline Bureau.The call for applications for the 2026 edition of the publication residency is now closed.

About the residency
During the residency, each artist will develop an individual project related to the theme Manual, which will be included in the final collective publication. Projects may draw on one or more languages of print publishing (textuality, drawing, engraving, photography, printing, etc.) or focus on the modalities of the medium and their effects (reading rhythm, composition, size, and materials, etc.). 
The theme Manual can be approached in a free and open manner, both as a handbook (practical manual, instruction guide, tool for transmission and archiving) and as a notion related to the hands (technical skills, know-how, learning by doing). The theme can give rise to experimental, didactic, poetic, critical, and other proposals. Above all, the theme Manual is a starting point for reflection and creation. 
The residency consists of a series of four workshops designed to address the theme from different angles and enrich the discussion through a variety of approaches. A visit to Artexte and meetings with guest artists are planned as part of the workshops. The residency will culminate in a collective publication bringing together all the proposals developed by the artists throughout the process. 
No writing experience is required; artists from all disciplines who wish to experiment with collective publishing are encouraged to apply.

Troquant ses ciseaux à bois pour le crayon à mine, Myriam Simard-Parent raconte, dans une forme bédéesque, l’histoire d’une sculptrice ensorcelée par la matière. Par le jeu de la fiction, Les chiens dans les arbres propose une réflexion inédite sur l'interrelation entre les artistes et leur médium de prédilection, dont le potentiel transfigurateur comporte aussi le risque d’une métamorphose vampirique.

Sa pratique, centrée sur la photographie, les textiles et la céramique, aborde des thèmes tels que la migration, le traumatisme culturel, l’image de soi, la mémoire et le colonialisme environnemental.
